- Social tennis - Sunday mornings
- Ladies Mid-Week Competition - Wednesdays
- Annual Club Championships (Junior and Adult members)
- Casual / social play - booked or spontaneous
- Junior tennis
Internal Mixed Competition - Saturday Afternoons
This is a very popular and long running competition that operates for both high and low handicapped players across four teams, enabling players of all standards to enjoy social tennis with an appropriate level of competition. Three sets of eight games each are played on Saturday afternoons throughout most of the year, with high and low handicap competitions played at different times in the afternoon. Handicaps are independently monitored and regularly adjusted to suit the level of player skill. Interested players should contact Bill Oliver on (02) 9436 2247.
Social Tennis - Sunday Mornings
Social tennis is played from 9:00am - 11:00am on Sunday mornings throughout the year. Play is organised by the players on the day to suit the individual skill levels of those attending. The emphasis is on enjoying the tennis. Interested players should contact Frank Simpson on (02) 9449 6408.
Ladies Mid-Week Competition - Wednesdays
Greenwich provides four teams at differing grades to compete in the Northern Suburbs Tennis Association's Ladies Mid-Week Competition. This is a long-standing interclub ladies competition that is played weekly on Wednesdays between 9.30am and 2.30pm - with a break for lunch. Two teams play alternately at home and away each week. The competition is open to all female members. Interested members should contact Judith McMahon on (02) 9436 4820 for further information.
Club Championships
The Club Championships are held annually in late October, with competitions for Men and Ladies in Singles, Doubles and Mixed play. There is also a Handicapped Championship Competition that enables players of all skill levels to compete - with the potential to win the competition.
Junior Club Championships are held in the middle of part of the year with competitions for Girls and Boys in age ranges 7 - 8, 9 - 10 and 11 - 13 including Singles and Doubles as demand dictates.
Casual / Social Play
Members may play at no charge whenever the courts are available. Visitors and non-members must pay to play in accordance with court hire fees. Refer to Court Hire for details of court hire costs, the court booking procedure and court usage and availability. Members may play spontaneously without booking a court but priority must be given to formal bookings.
Junior Tennis
Junior Tennis is highly encouraged at the club with time allocated for after-school play and coaching. Approximately 60 Juniors are currently receiving coaching from Andrew Bennett at ABTennis, with a strong contingent of Juniors developing. Junior social tennis afternoons are organised from time, to time, often with a sausage sizzle, to create fun opportunities for the kids to play tennis and hang out together.
